Review 👉 Harry Potter And Chamber Of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter #2)

Title : Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone
Author : Joanne Kathleen Rowling
Publisher : Gramedia Pustaka Utama

Synopsis via Goodreads
The Dursleys were so mean and hideous that summer that all Harry Potter wanted was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But just as he's packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike

And strike it does. For in Harry's second year at Hogwarts, fresh torments and horrors arise, including an outrageously stuck-up new professor, Gilderoy Lockhart, a spirit named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls' bathroom, and the unwanted attentions of Ron Weasley's younger sister, Ginny.

But each of these seem minor annoyances when the real trouble begins, and someone -- or something -- starts turning Hogwarts students to stone. Could it be Draco Malfoy, a more poisonous rival than ever? Could it possibly be Hagrid, whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one everyone at Hogwarts most suspects . . . Harry Potter himself?

5 Stars

*Sings Hedwig's Theme.* Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is a book you will scarcely put down until the end! Thanks Rowling, I didn't want to sleep for three days! Honestly, this book kicks the first novel, Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone right in the butt. Well, if a book does have a butt! This is a really good book and if you are not a Harry Potter fan, I seriously urge you to read this series because J.K. Rowling's writing is magical. (Haha, get it? Because of the book being about magic and all? No? Okay then...) The book is really descriptive and you get more of an insight to Harry's education and this book has so much improvement in it! In my last review, for this book, I had mentioned that the main plot of this book was right towards the ending. Nope, not this book! The dilemma hits the story fifty pages in or so! Rowling has done a brilliant job on really improving her newest series!

- The characters, on the other hand, haven't really chaned. Except for their ages because of the new school year at Hogwarts. The description of them are the same (I'm talking about the characters in the previous book) however, new characters are introduced and most of them seem really vivid and the author makes me feel as if I know them as if they were my own friends. You learn more about Ron's family which is brilliant because I am a Weasley lover and Rowling has done a perfect job on explaining. So thank you Rowling! Some of the new characters that were introduced seemed really grousome and scary which gave me the element of suprise!
The plot is excatly like the movie, so there isn't much to quote on this bit. However, the main bit was a little rushed in the novel which I did not like because of the pace of the novel. But this book is amazing and you will become a Potterhead promtly after reading this. And this book has been written quite cleverly because this novel contains a frame story. If you don't know what that means, it means that there is a story within a story. Clever huh? -

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is a brilliantly and outstanding novel that will drag you into chaos until you are in the middle of the maddness. Enough said.
